I purchased a ticket from Detroit to New York for $140 dollars. I needed to add a carry on bag, but it cost an additional $75 dollars each way, With the additional charges for a checked bag totaling $150 dollars, the added cost was more than the original ticket purchase of $140 dollars. My purchase more than doubled because I needed to take a bag with me. Therefore, the purchase was no longer a good deal in my opinion. A carry on bag should not cost more than the flight itself. It should be a percentage proportionate to the original purchase made. Especially when the carry on bag is required to be small.
