I have used websites to purchase flight tickets for quite a while now and booking with ChecknFly is the worst experience ever. Indeed, it was a nightmare.
This time I used Kayak to buy my flight tickets and choose the lowest price for Cathay Pacific Airlines. It was not until I tried to book and pay when I realized the travel agent was ChecknFly.
After booking, I receive a confirmation email from ChecknFly which specifically stated that my package included 1 piece of check-in luggage.
However, the next day I was told that I needed to pay an extra £85 for my check-in luggage otherwise Cathay Pacific would not issue my E-ticket. I was not allowed to cancel my booking unless I was willing to lose all the money I had paid.
As I had no alternative choice, I just paid and hope for the best. It was another good 3 hours before I eventually received my E-ticket.
When I was waiting for my ticket, I kept checking on yahoo uk about the rating of ChecknFly and on Google Map with its address. At one stage I was in despair. The feedbacks on this company were appallingly and its registered office was in an ordinary small house in Weymouth. I thought I was scammed and tried to contact my bank to see if I could stop the payments.
It was not until when I eventually received my E-ticket that I felt a bit relieved. However, I am still not sure whether the E- ticket I received is genuine. As I have no way of checking it out, I shall wait to see if I could receive any information from Cathay Pacific Airlines relating to my check in status and seat booking.
Be aware of this company! Booking a flight ticket with this company is not straightforward. ChecknFly might offer the cheapest price but there are hidden charges and you might eventually pay more for your flight.
