I had been searching for business class flights to take my mum on holiday to Mauritius and found a great deal with Checknfly, which I went ahead and booked.
The following day, Checknfly advised me that the rate we had booked was not available and that only flexible tickets were left for the return part of the flight. Whilst we didn't need flexibility and I was disappointed with the increase, the price was still competitive so I went ahead and confirmed the booking.
Once the booking was confirmed, I went to view the details on the airline website and found that "Business Basic" tickets (i.e. the ones without flexibility) had been booked both ways - this was a surprise, as I had been explicitly advised that this ticket type wasn't available for the return. I questioned it with Checknfly who initially suggested that the flexibility element was an upgrade that I had been offered by them as an option and accepted and then, when I advised I had a WhatsApp conversation record clearly showing this to be untrue, ignored my complaint altogether.
I am hoping that Checknfly will read this comment and now act to resolve my complaint before I need to take court action, as it's a material sum of money that has been taken for flexibility that was never requested, is not needed and has not been booked with the airline. In the meantime, I can only recommend avoiding this business which is a shame as, despite their dishonest sales practices, I do think they have access to some very good rates.
