Purchased xbox live 12 months for my son's birthday, didn't use the code straight away due to personal issues and then when we went to use it, the code wouldn't work. Contacted customer service to ask why / if they could help resolve the issue / anything they could do and got told no because we didn't use it instantly. I read through all the emails and the description on the item and couldn't see anything to tell me I had to use it instantly and when I challenged customer services about it, I got a very unhelpful response and wouldn't do anything to help me/not even offer 3/6 months of xbox live instead. So we've paid out for something and haven't been able to use it. Very unhappy son and a very unhappy mum too.
