I was on the hunt to purchase a new sofa because our cat had torn our old one to shreds in a number of places, and it reached a point of embarrassment when guests would come over to have them sit on it. I knew I didn't want to necessarily limit my purchase based on only certain fabric options being available when choosing a sofa and decided it might be better to get the one I really wanted and to protect it with a slipcover. I purchased the West Elm Andes sofa upholstered in a twill fabric (not cat friendly whatsoever), and I worked with Ning Lim at Comfort Works to select a fabric which would hold up to our cat's claws for the slipcover. We ended up choosing Madison Ash which was probably going to be the most durable of options. I had concerns about the whole process given I'm in the U.S. and Comfort Works is based in Australia/manufactures in China. I exchanged a number of emails with Ning, asked a lot of questions, and she was super responsive and detailed with her replies and guided me through every single step. To say I was skeptical about how the fit would be for the slipcover is an understatement. I'm very picky. The slipcover fits like a glove. I'm still amazed how they are able construct something based on measurements without having the physical sofa/cushions there to test it on and have it fit like it's actually upholstered onto the sofa itself. The quality of the construction is great, and the customer service Ning provided is unparalleled. I'm a very satisfied customer! And the cat hasn't been able to destroy this one yet :)
