AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE Had read the negative reviews but thought I would give them a try anyway. Booked to move a single piece of furniture - price was expensive but it was vital that this piece was moved ASAP so went ahead. Before paying it is made to seem like your booking, time, date etc, is 100% guaranteed - IT IS NOT. Only after you pay does the booking system mention that your booking is preliminary and needs to be confirmed, driver found etc. Immediately phoned customer service to query this as it seemed a bit dodgy, they had my money but I had no guarantee of the job being carried out as and when I needed it done. While on the phone the job was assigned to a driver, coincidence... 10 minutes later and the driver cancelled! This was far too an uncertain way to go about booking a £250 delivery, I can't allow my business to be dictated like this. A sort of semi-booking that has been fully paid for, which is then liable to be changed on the whim of a 3rd party driver. So amateur. I immediately called customer service back to request a refund. Was told that while I was on the phone another driver had been assigned to the job. I explained that I could not rely on this unreliable system and I would like to cancel the booking (bearing in mind the booking had only been paid approximately 11 minutes beforehand!). Was told that as a driver had been found (apparently) if I wanted to cancel as it was within 24hours of the date of the collection I would not receive a refund at all as it was too short notice! 11 minutes after I had boooked! I asked for a more senior member of staff to call me back. Same worker called me back saying a manager was unavailable but that he himself had made a mistake and that I would be charged a £30 fee to cancel the booking. Not very happy about it but I know how slippery these terrible companies can be but did request he escalate the matter to his manager as it had only been 11 minutes since I booked and paid. Received another call back saying that a manager was unavailable but that he had clarified the situation with management and he had in fact made another mistake. The fee to cancel the booking was either £30 or 30% of the total cost, whichever was more! So it would cost me £85+ to cancel the booking that existed for less than 15minutes and had cost them absolutely nothing at all. I would understand if the driver had driven to a job that was cancelled, or had accepted this job and in doing so had lost the opportunity to then do another job- but nothing of the sort happened as it had only been a matter of minutes. Absolutely outrageous. A deliberately dubious booking system that makes it seem that the job/date/time you have selected is set. A host of unknown 3rd party drivers who can cancel allegedly confirmed jobs without reason. A customer service team who are in a 3rd party call centre and are not directly employed by the company or even in the same building as the 'management'. Just terrible, absolutely no need to steal £85 from me just before Christmas. Shame on them. Believe the other negative reviews. PLEASE, just pay £20 more and use a bigger more well known company, not these clowns.
