Initially our first year of cover was excellent, with extra benefits included at no cost, and a competitive cost.
Unfortunately, this then renewed at twice the price, and the only notification was an email to check the online portal, something I admittedly missed, but specifically request paper communications for all my insurance an the like for this reason.
Upon cancellation of the policy, over £90 of additional charges were put on the policy which seemed unreasonable and excessive to be quite honest. Moreover, the renewal was twice the cost of the previous year's cover, with no claims made. I have since gone elsewhere.
Live chat is the only way to really contact the firm it seems, which is a bit annoying, but I did get an response within a half hour of waiting. LH1, the agent was actually very helpful, and I have since resolved the cancellation fee issue following some explanation from them and expressing my dissatisfaction. However the practice of doubling the renewal and then charging the cancellation AND broker fees seems quite shady.
This is the reason for my 2 star review, while customer service when encountered was good, and the previous years service was also good. I cannot abide by the renewal and exit.
