Roger Cockett
First problem is that they don't have an enquiries number for car insurance on the website. The online chat service is a poor substitute but doubtless they are saving money. What I wanted to know was whether my car insurance policy had actually been set up at all, since no money had been taken from my bank account. Their immediate response via online chat was that the policy had not been set up but they didn't say what to do about it. Then shortly after they responded that the policy had been set up. Maybe it had or maybe it hadn't. No money has left my account so far, but it's possible that this will only happen on the date of the policy starting (7th April). Or possibly not. The only certain way to tell will be if the police stop my car for having no insurance. I forget what the fine for driving uninsured is but they probably endorse your licence too. However I do have a Certificate of Motor Insurance from One Call (actually from Ageas Insurance Limited) which may be all that's needed. Or maybe not? If only One Call Insurance could be bothered to provide a telephone enquiry service this could be resolved very quickly. This company was cheap, but I wouldn't use them again because you don't want to be uncertain about insurance.
