Called customer service to add business use to my car insurance. Helpful young man said it would cost only £24 if I did it via online portal. I tried this but it told me I needed to speak to an agent via online chat. This guy told me to try the other two things I'd already tried. Had to say twice that had already tried these routes. The actual cost was £59.15 not £24. Bit pricey seeing as some insurers do it for free. Asked if the updated certificate would be emailed to me. He said it would show in my portal instead but guess what? It doesn't. I need to see proof as I will be using my car to transport a disabled passenger as part of my new job. Feeling frustrated. The service seems amateurish.
