The idea of installing Perfect Fit venetian blinds to double glazed windows looked simple. However, we found that our double glazed windows have external beading and this meant that they would not fit as supplied. We also found that the video instructions were not entirely correct. We did overcome both of these issues by spending quite a lot of time adapting and cutting down the units to get the end result. Blinds to Go only refer to the ‘rubber bead’ (used for fitting the metal brackets the blinds attach to) and they state that this is all you need to ensure these blinds will fit. However, this just means the brackets will attach. The beading is actually the white trim that holds the glass in place and the black rubber is the seal between either side of the glass. They have assumed that all windows have the internal white plastic beading holding the glass in place. As they assume you have this extra width of white beading, and like us, you have externally beaded windows they simply won’t fit. This is because without that extra beading width between glass and window frame, the blind frame will be too wide (it will hit into the window handle and there are also protruding parts concealed underneath which will hit into the window frame).
