This was not my first vehicle purchase at Copart but IT WILL be my last. My last purchase was labelled as a Run and Drive, needless to say, like SO many others after paying for it(with ALL of the ridiculous fees that drove a $400 car up to $658) and then having it brought out from behind the gates one glance and I figured that there no way that this was going to be a Run/Drive but I was going to try it anyway, 1st battery was dead, nothing new there, I brought one with me ... tried to start it and no start but did turn over barely ... the starter was arcing so bad that it was welding itself together, at this point I went back into the office to try and return vehicle as it was not a Run/Drive in my opinion, again like so many others I was told that there was nothing they could or would to help me out even tho I said that I didnt want the money back, that I was willing to leave the money in my account in order to buy something else Nope nothing worked and I get it Copart has created every kind/level of Disclaimer that allows them to not take any kind of responsibility for any wrong that Copart might have done, it is up to us the buyer to go and look at the car before the auction unluckily that is not as easy as it sounds for many people due to distance/time/Covid etc. there was a time that if I wanted to go and look at some vehicles I could go to Copart, get the keys to 3 different cars, go out into the yard with my code reader/jump box and check the cars out completely all in about one hour of my time ... fast foward to today and now you are only allowed to see one car at a time with no code reader or jump box and you are escorted by a Copart employee to the car and back, IF you want to then look at another vehicle you must go to the end of the line of all the other people wanting to preview vehicles and wait your turn ...turning what used to be a 1hr mission into a 4 hour mission with really no knowledge of what may be wrong with it ..... Coparts disclaimers opens the door for Copart to lie, cheat, mis-label cars and boy howdy evidently they are running amuck doing just that and altho I have been treated fairly and with respect at the North Portland Location I can not say the same for South Portland In the end after spending $100 to tow the vehicle to my home I have replaced the starter, fuel pump relay, battery, did a compression check and still does not start So there is NO WAY that Copart ever checked to see if this car was a Run/Drive when it was brought in to sell ....NO WAY and yet it was listed as a Run/Drive with no other description other then Front End damage .......
