This isn’t easy to write, but I feel like it’s important to speak up. I’ve known Chad personally for years — he’s my stepfather — and I also happen to work at the same Costco location. I wish I could say I’ve seen a different side of him at work, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.
Chad brings the same controlling and dismissive behavior into the workplace that I’ve seen at home. He talks down to people, treats them as if they’re beneath him, and rarely shows appreciation for the hard work others do. He focuses on small, unnecessary tasks just to assert his authority, not to improve anything.
The way he interacts with the team creates a lot of tension. People don’t feel comfortable around him, and I’ve seen firsthand how it affects morale and communication. He doesn’t listen, he doesn’t take feedback well, and he makes it very hard for people to feel respected or supported.
It’s hard to say this, especially given the family connection, but leadership means more than holding a title — it means treating people with fairness, empathy, and humility. That’s not happening here. For the good of the team, I hope this is taken seriously.
