I don't particularly like writing bad reviews, and when I do I try to be objective, just the facts. It's a little hard in this case. I paid this company to haul away a sofa and two love seats. They do state that if the person doing the hauling away determines that the items are in a state that they don't want to deal with, they won't haul them away. No refunds. I figured there was a good chance with one love seat, it had lived in the basement for awhile. And the other has a lot of cat fur on it. I took my chances. They showed up on time, got the big couch out quickly. The back comes off to make moving easier. One of the love seats does the same. The guy asked me where the others were. Looked at the one in the basement, then he went up, took the back off the upstairs love seat and took that out to his truck. At that point he told me that he would need help getting the other pieces out. He would call me back, to let me know when, but it was likely to be about 45 minutes. Fine, things happen. He had been gone for 5 minutes and my phone rings. It is the company he works for telling me that he wouldn't take them away. Now keep in mind that he had already taken part of one of the love seats away, he had no problems with that. And he looked me in the eye and lied to me. Just flat out lied. If he had said "it's messed up" I would have not been happy, but I would have accepted it. It's in the contract. In the meantime, I am missing part of the love seat, so if I can get it cleaned up, and I expect to, I don't have a complete unit. During the call to say that I was out of luck, I requested that he bring the back of the love seat back. Which he did ... he dumped them on my porch and left. I called and complained, of course, because you do. I asked if I could get the love seat cleaned up if they could come back and get it. I was told that they would see, and would call me back, but seeing how that guy was the only driver they had in Ames, it was unlikely. Yeah, the only driver. Where was he going to get help from? Two hours now, no call. I don't expect one. If they had taken the big couch and said, to my face, that the couldn't take the others, this would be a 3-4 star review. I would have stated my disappointment, but left it at that. As it is, I am out a 100 bucks, I have a lead to get the last two hauled away, which will probably cost me another 100 bucks. So, buyer beware. This is a company based out of state. The local driver is perfectly willing to look you in the eye and lie to you.
