The product I bought was substandard and th excuse was it was made in China so what did I expect !!!! There are signs in the shop saying canvas sizes may vary But no signs saying that canvases might be twisted or unframable !!! I bought a 90x70 canvas Yes the sizes were slightly out but my framer made a tray frame to suit only to find the canvas had a twist and it was running 15 mm out .. my painting was to go in a gallery as I sell my work … my options were to either scrap my work or try and make a suitable frame at a further cost to myself First frame was £150 the knew frame would be £210 I had to go with this as my work does sell! Cowling and Wilcox did not care at all about their faulty frame and said they supply to students and I should not have bought it Since when has “ students” work become so undervalued !!!!! The management of this company are disgraceful!!! I have always tried to support their shop in Canterbury and buy when ever I am there !! But not any more !!!!!!! I was upset about the product and furious about their slap dash response I at least should have been compensated for or towards the second frame as a gesture of good will ….. there is no good will on this company at all!! No wonder artists are turning to Amazon and hopefully students as well .
