I had a garage inform me during a oil change service that my front brakes were at 3mm and needed to be change. They also informed me that the rotors had grooves and also needed to be change. Total estimate for parts and labor $716.85 which was INSANE!
A Google search shows that this sort of service cost $300-$400. I then searched for local mechanics and Curbee popped up. I reviewed the website, what they’re about and requested a quote. Within a short time I had an appointment scheduled for service estimated at $348 parts and labor.
The day of the appointment Alex contacted me to confirm I’m available and that he would arrive promptly at 12:30PM. Alex arrived a few minutes early, he introduced himself, confirmed the requested service, and explained the process and the vehicle assessment he’ll perform. I gave him my keys and returned to my apartment upstairs.
10 mins later Alex called me and stated “ Sir, your brakes are at 7mm and your rotors and fine. You don’t need to replace any of them.” Bewildered at the news I just heard I came downstairs and Alex proceeded to show me the gauge he uses to measure the brake pads and then physically showed me what he found. I took pictures for proof too.
Alex then informed me that I wouldn’t be charged and then apologized for the con job I received from the other garage and explained that Curbee is trying to change the way people think about mechanics and that there are honest companies such as Curbee that are truly just trying to help people and not blatantly steal their hard-earned money.
He also explained that the part will be returned and that I wouldn’t be charges for anything. I couldn’t frickin believe it!
CURBEE IS AMAZING!
Thank you Alex for being and honest person and for the good work you do. It’s people like you that give me hope for tomorrow.
Thank you Curbee for awesome service and honest work.
Sincerely,
