WARNING on BAD customer experience from Dell Corporation.
OK everyone, you know I never post anything like this but after my horrendous experience with Dell Corporation I felt compelled to speak out on this. Last week I placed an order with them to purchase an extra monitor - and performed a guest check out using PayPal. I never received a purchase confirmation from Dell but I did receive a PayPal confirmation for the amount of $737.47. So on my Friday when my monitor did not arrive, I called Dell. I spent an hour and a half on hold... Were they closed? Don't know! An hour and a half on hold was plenty enough. I decided I'd wait until today to call. Today I have spent TWO HOURS being hung on, transferred, etc... I have heard everything from the department I need to speak with is closed (Tuesday September 8th at noon), to "we need your order number (to which I cannot provide because Dell never provided one).
Dell doesn't have my name, number, address associated with an order in their system *BUT* they have my $737.47. PayPal says they can't do anything for 30 days. After 30 days I can submit a dispute.
I have experienced some wacky customer service in the past, I have experienced incompetent customer service before.
But I have NEVER experienced such horrible and incompetent service as this. Dell, INC. has taken the "Poor Customer experience" to an entirely new low level.
To give you a better idea of just how bad the service has been... I had a better experience with dealing with the public IRS information line. I would have rather dealt with the DMV and that's not an exaggeration.
I will NEVER EVER purchase an item from Dell ever again...
