I have a home with period features but it had a contemporary chandelier that looked out of place in a main room. I replaced it with the Regency basket chandelier which the electricion described as a character light fitting and now everyone thinks is an antique original in what is really a modern build home that people think is an old home. It would work well with French style interiors or an old English country house look but could also work really well to create a bedroom setting. It works because of its quality.
