I had my hair transplant ( 4500 grafts) by Dr Mehmet Demircioglu at Diamond hair clinic on 16th Feb 25. Overall it was an amazing experience for me right from the start o f consultation ( remote) till my surgery and the post op care . I am based in UK and I am a Physician by trade. Having done lots of research about various clinics offering hair transplant both in UK and outside , I eventually chose Dr Mehmet Demircioglu's diamond hair clinic. This was largely influenced by the professionalism, expertise and my interaction with Dr Mehmet Demircioglu and his team. I had my initial consultation by sending videos and pictures through WhatsApp and had a comprehensive report about the number of grafts required, details of the surgery, post op care . I didn't feel pressurised to make a decision and they answered my numerous queries swiftly. As we all know there are numerous hair transplant clinics in Istanbul and most of them run as a factory with less personalised approach and the transplant procedure is not done by the named surgeon but rather their assistants. Hence they keep the costs down. When I found out that Dr Mehmet Demircioglu does only 10 transplants per month and only 1 per day , that gave me lots of reassurance as this would mean more personalised approach and the surgeon is involved with only you and no one else. I was picked up by the driver at the airport ( part of package) and arrived at the hotel in the night. The hotel was modern with all amenities and the staff were amazing. The next day early morning after breakfast, I was picked up by the driver to the clinic for the procedure . It was a 30 min drive to the clinic . The clinic is modern, clean with all amenities. I was received by Dr Mehmet and I was impressed by his professionalism and his calm demeanor. He explained in great details about the sequence of events. I had my bloods done to ensure there is no evidence of infection ( Hepatitis, hiv). Dr Mehmet spent great amount of time discussing about the hair line which is a key part of this procedure. His attention to detail and always thinking about patients perspective impressed me. He introduced me to his other team members who have vast experience of assisting the procedure. The procedure room was clean , well lit and modern . After drawing the hairline, they shaved my head and then the procedure started. Once the area was cleaned and sterilised, they numbed my scalp with local anaesthetic and then they instill a fluid between the scalp to ensure they have enough space to extract and implant the hair. The process of numbing the scalp with anaesthetic can be a bit painful but manageable otherwise the whole process is not painful. My surgery was finished by evening and the transport dropped me at the hotel . I had to stay at the hotel the next day as its important not to go outside and ensure the graft site is not damaged. On the 2nd post op day, I went for an early morning check and dressing change and the driver dropped me to the airport. Dr Mehmet had further consultation with me to go through the post op care, medications , advice about exercise, lifestyle. He also gave me a realistic timeline about the final results post transplant as people often expect the results immediately which doesn't happen in the field of medicine. It's been a month since I had a transplant and though its too early to see any results , I had a great experience with Dr Mehmet and his team. The post op care is solely supervised by Dr Mehmet and I have to send him the pictures daily for 12 days . This is really important part as once we travel back to our country we need to have a mechanism of closed supervision post op. I was impressed by his attention to details as he would often advice me to modify some of the post op treatment after looking at the pictures. He was very prompt in answering to my queries from his personal contact number. From a Physician perspective I found them very professional with amazing surgical skills and clinical knowledge, it was a modern and clean surgical setup . From the perspective of being a patient , I was well informed by Dr Mehmet as he spends a great amount of time in addressing your queries, I felt reassured during the procedure as Dr Mehmet is present during all the stages of the procedure . It's not about just supervising but Dr Mehmet is involved in all the key parts of the procedure which sets them apart to other " instagram hit clinics" where its more of glamour and less of substance.
