This is scam. We have done a ferry booking from Singapore to bintan and we had to cancel the booking due to visa issue. However, Direct ferries refused to do the refund stating that local operator refuse the refund.
However, we checked this with local operator to know that direct ferry actually didn't make a cancelation request from local operator. And direct ferry didn't respond when we inquire about this.
They don't have a contact number and we always receive an automatic reply for all the queries we made
