“Direct ferry is one of the bad ferry services in Dover and Calais port. I booked sailing Dover/ Calais- Dover return sailing. Then I contacted with them to amend my sailing. They send me link to pay an additional fee £40 with 6 hours. The day of travel they contact us to pay another extra additional fee £36 to pay. I refused to pay extra additional fee and they send me cancellation email. So be careful to travel Direct ferry.”
“I ordered the ferry and tried to cancel the ferry but there system was down they then contacted stating sorry our systems where down you can now access your account to cancel the ferry, by this time it was to late now they won't refund me my money or reschedule a date when your finally able to speak to a human they are very rude and not helpful at all will not use again”
“I booked a ticket which I thought was $98 which was the same price as what I would have paid if I booked through the carrier direct on their website. Since I thought it was the same price, I booked through Direct Ferries but was surprised to find there was extra $10 service fee only after I paid for it. I realised that you don’t show the additional charge initially but only add it on just before the final approval for a credit card, even after going through the trouble of filling out all the details of the passport. So why do you not transparently show the total charge on the price initially? It is a very deceitful way of getting people like me to believe it’s the same price, then overlooking the final price to spend $10 more for no added benefit. Not only will I not fall for this scam again but make sure I tell everyone about how you try to scam people into making this purchase.”
“Do not use this site under any circumstances to book your ferry. Direct Ferries took my payment. When arrived at the ferry terminal my booking was there but the payment from Direct Ferries had not been paid to AML. Paid again to AML ferries. Still waiting for a refund although DIrect Ferries have proof of both my payments”

“I am still trying to get into my account amended a ticket yesterday from Turku to Stockholm on 30 May to 29Th May for 1 person only. I got a response showing the change and refund ! I still cannot see the change under my bookings. Still no refund. Using AI for “help” is very professional either as it’s a waste of time .i hope I will see my new ticket soon plus get a response . I will never work with this company again. Ferryhooper is much better. Highly recommend!”

“Would highly recommend against using this company. We paid $88 Cdn for a sailing in Oct, which included an $11 Cancel For Any Reason option. We had to cancel our sailing shortly after booking it and received a refund of $67 Cdn. We were then informed that they do not refund certain fees, of which we would have seen if we read the terms and conditions on their website. Nowhere on my receipt, or email acknowledgement, was this mentioned. Direct Ferries will retain approx 25% of your ticket cost if you cancel, even if you pay extra for a cancel anytime option.”
