Being a full time professional and also a busy Mom, me and my husband have been generally ordering dinners 2-3 times a week through Doordash for a while now. Initially the service was great and the delivery was always on time, which is great since we get a variety of restaurant food without the overhead of going out. Unfortunately, about 4-6 months ago, we had a streak of late deliveries (~30 minutes) and/or food came cold/messed up (think the food container hit the floor board). We lost confidence for a bit and did not use their service. Recently, we tried them again and service seems to be recovered for the last month or so (and we started ordering regularly from them again), until we experienced our worst experience tonight. I placed my order and got ETA of ~1-1.25 hours for delivery. I got notification about 45 minutes later that my order was picked up at the restaurant (less than 5 minutes away). Well, an hour after that, the kids were starving and the food was no where to be found. I frantically tried to call and chat support and barely got through when the driver showed up. The food was cold and the milkshake was all melted. The driver claimed that the restaurant messed up the order and insisted that he picked up the food only 20 minutes ago. I didn't buy that. At the end, I was offered $15 credit for my $46 order. For a long time customer, not only was the delivery experience frustrating, but I thought despite the apologies from Support, it was an underwhelming customer service experience as well.
