I was supposed to receive a parcel today between 11:21 and 12:21.
The driver showed up at 11:27. The delivery was an exchange. We were about to do the swap, when the driver suddenly told me that he could not deliver my parcel, because he was supposed to proceed to his "number 11" delivery, while I was "number 27". The driver claimed he had to do the deliveries in the right order. On my phone, the app said that he was currently at delivery number 24 (and not 11, as he claimed). I insisted and asked him if he was really sure he could not deliver to parcel (and take mine in exchange), and he confirmed that he could not.
The driver then told me that he would be back in half an hour. Yet the app said that the driver was on a tight schedule and would not be coming back today.
Here attached is a picture of the driver with his package and me with my exchange item, just before he refused to deliver the parcel.
I have contacted DPD and they said that the driver indeed was not supposed to come back. If I did not have the picture, the driver could easily claim that he came and no one was there. Why he did that remains a mystery to me and is extermely frustrating as I stayed home today and cancelled other appointments just for this delivery.
