Ordered a small piece of furniture. To my utter dismay I discovered the delivery courier would be DPD. In the past we have been due various deliveries from this company. A mobile telephone which ultimately had to collect from depot. Clothing, ultimately had to collect from local shop - Two occasions. Prior to Christmas a picture was taken of house where apparently 'Nobody in'. The house was in a different road!!!
On this occasion, the item was due to be delivered on 17th Jan. Received a text saying 'Nobody in'. Picture of house supplied was at opposite end of the street.
Delivery was arranged for 19/Jan between 1.15 / 2.15 p.m.
Another text just received saying 'Nobody in' with a picture of the house which is also the same house at opposite end of the street. Well I happened to walk down to this address and spoke to a guy who has been working on lights in the driveway all day at this address and he advised that no van driver tried to deliver any merchandise. It would appear the driver turned up, took a photo of the house and drove on.
Instructions were given on 17th Jan to deliver on 19th and reiterated the delivery instructions. Clear and succinct.
I would've hoped these were passed to the van driver and they would've been able to read. Apparently not.
Phoned up the supplier who have spoken to DPD and apparently delivery now arranged for 20th Jan.
I will be back on here tomorrow to advise if DPD have employed any van drivers with common sense and have made a successful delivery.
