Andrea
Today I had a delivery from EE arranged through DPD arranged the time, I made sure that I left college early so I would not get stuck in traffic, and arrived home way in advanced the driver was meant to deliver my parcel. By 16.46 I was in my house, I did sit at the corridor in my house by the bell, whilst waiting talking to my flatmate, at 17.21 I received a message stating that the driver had gone because I was not in?! Outrageous, I was inside the house and my doorbell never rang. I then went downstairs and saw a call back card...stating the driver was there at 17.20 and was gone! One minute waiting, is that even acceptable???? I then tried to call or communicate with someone....well...find a number which I could call was a task and a half. 1St call nobody reply 2ND call I get told the driver cannot come back as was on the way back to depot (so end of the shift or something like that I guess), the phone call cuts and no one phone back when I was talking!! 3rd call I get told that the driver rang the buzzer of the three flats (not true), that the guy was there at 17.18 that means he wrote the call back card in less than 120 seconds and left, if I am on crutches and I'm coming down I would miss the guy, I get told that it is acceptable that the driver only waits 120 seconds and that is even too much time, that drivers have a tight schedule of deliveries...so the driver was gone back to the depot, as I got to know from previous call, it really sounds like "my last delivery, can't be bothered, gonna take a picture of the front of the house and leave a card so I can go back early and chill the rest of the evening" I ask why not to give me a call he is provided with a number, I get told that this is not the routine... I don't get the option of chosing what time the delivery can get through my house anymore, I get told I just should sit waiting for it or get it delivered to a shop which is not an option, is a very expensive item and I want it delivered to my door. I do have to work but I get told there are no more options that I just have to sit and wait in a window frame of 12 hours!! So I had to book it on my day off which means I am left without a phone for 5 more days to communicate as your policy states you don't wait or call for the costumer and obviously being 12 hours on the road waiting god knows if I will get my parcel now or it will go back to the depot again... I said I wanted to speak with a manager and was told they were not available to talk to me as they were busy and that I would have to wait for a call back "maybe tomorrow" outrageous. I wrote to their "make it right team" they assure they would contact you within 90 mins...that never happened either... I got so upset that my whole body started hurting badly, I am disabled, I have EDS, so when I went afterwards to do food shopping and when going to take my raincoat my shoulder blade popped out of place went back in but pain is already there, this evening I had the blade popping out and back in for another three times. I'm so upset still and in pain I cannot sleep... I let know all my contacts in facebook, my support group, said it to EE webpage, that DPD think that if we walk on crutches, or we are disabled and not able to respond quick to the front door we are doomed to not get our parcels because for DPD we have to be like Flash Gordon so we get to the front door within 120 seconds or less...the driver would not wait any longer...quite disrrespectful company with disabled people...as far as I can see...I do not blame the driver who is under pressure under extremely tight schedules that are not well designed, maybe earning under minimum wage doing long shifts, but. I blame it in the company that has really poor costumer service and poor delivery service... I don't think EE should be using them given the fact they treat costumers like rubbish. I have seen your facebook page and cannot believe you have been awarded as best delivery company. You have so many complaints around that I find that award a very bad tasted joke.
