Wasn't the cheapest option, but given the good reviews and the fact that I would get given an hour slot between 9:00 - 17:00 on the day, I scheduled a pick up and next day delivery of a package. I was sent multiple emails / SMS offering options to reschedule the pickup, but no slot and no sign of pick-up by 16:30. After searching for contact details, I finally found a button to contact someone in their App, after which I was told it sent me to the wrong people. After over 30 minutes of waiting in queues and on hold. I finally spoke to someone who then spoke to a driver who claimed to have come to the house at 16:38 whilst I was on the call, but there was no one home! He also said he "knocked on the door" despite the clearly visible door bell - clearly an outright lie. The call centre staff acknowledged that I was on the call during the "alleged delivery" and that I was never sent the promised ETA - which seems strange. When she next tried to speak to the driver, he had got all the way out of central London and back to the depot, which is pretty amazing in 5pm traffic. The call centre tried to help, but the end result was I spent over an hour of my time on a call and my package wasn't collected, which was a total failure of behalf of DPD Local and hugely inconvenient for me. To add insult to injury the customer service people couldn't process the refund and made me speak to the "dpdlocal-online.co.uk" people - who were quite slow and made me detail everything again.
