Ordered some stuff from a company I have used for some years, and as usual requested delivery to my home address.
I subsequently received a message from DPD informing me that my parcel would be available to be picked up from a branch of Currys PC World some distance from my home as per my instructions. I had given no such instructions.
I contacted the sender who confirmed that they had sent it to my home address and indeed that only I could stipulate that delivery should be to anywhere else. They contacted DPD who promised that the parcel would be sent to my home address the next day. It wasn't.
I contacted DPD. Before I was connected, I was treated to a recorded message from their boss woman asking me not to be abusive to their staff. I soon found out why she thought this necessary, as the person I spoke to was totally useless. He said that there was nothing he could do, and implied that, as there was nothing wrong with their system, it must have been my fault!
The sender of my parcel contacted DPD again and was again told that the parcel would be recovered from Currys and delivered to my home address. Again, this has not happened and on the DPD app, my parcel is still being shown as awaiting collection from Currys.
This company is an absolute disgrace and should be put out of business entirely. In future, whenever I order anything online, I shall tell the vendor that the order is conditional on their not using DOD. I would urge others to do the same.
