Parcel left on my doorstep, mere feet from a public footpath at the end of my short, unfenced garden. Nobody knocked.
DX’s email re delivery stated:
“We take additional steps to ensure that our customers' goods can only reach locations and address types which they have specifically earmarked as being appropriate for safe delivery”
DX also stated:
“If we can we'll leave your item in a safe place or with a neighbour.“
If they’d simply knocked at the door I’d have collected it from the driver. The first I knew of it was an email, however. DX didn’t fulfil any of the promises in their email.
Sadly, this is what people expect from some couriers, and I don’t think that this will change while margins are cut to the bone. I’ll be contacting the sports company, whose item was delivered, to tell them I won’t be using them again while they use DX. I’d rather pay a few pence more for a responsible delivery service.
