I was along as a non-birding participant, and I still enjoyed the incredible scenery and wild places. Guyana's lack of infrastructure makes for rustic accommodations, which I loved. Just don't expect every-day wifi. Bring and use insect repellent--I got munched by chiggers, which was my own darn fault and detracted from my experience. Paul is a fabulously kind and birdy guide who can track down tiny gray birds all day long, and our local guide Gary is an all-around great guy too, with an encyclopedic knowledge of Guyanese birds.
