No protection for the seller. Summary below of my experience
1. We correctly advertised the item in line with Ebays policies and the item was advertised as described. Ebay later confirmed the item was advertised correctly following a review.
2. The buyer had buyers remorse and returned the item.
3. Ebays policy is to allow a refund because they “have not seen the item”, even though they confirmed it was advertised accurately
4. The item should have been returned by signed for delivery, this did not happen
5. The item was returned damaged, however as ebay “have not seen the item” their policy is to do nothing. We were told we should budget for losses when using Ebay to sell items.
6. We should seek damages via a third party as ebay do not offer any sellers protection in these circumstances. (not possible as our contract is with ebay not the seller)
7. We have requested details of how to raise a formal complaint 7 times and not yet been given these details.
Awful experience you never get one person handling the issue either so everytime you email in you get a different and conflicting response.
I think this independat review site gives a more accurate picture
