There's absolutely no protection as a seller. A buyer can buy an item, damage it, claim it wasn't working when they got it, with no proof required and you're automatically expected to absolve all costs and issue a refund. Trying to get ebay to step in and resolve the issue is pointless, they'll just keep repeating their policy over and over again without actually listening to the problem. My most recent experience is I sold a fitbit, was tested before I listed it and was working fine, the buyer had it for 28 days, obviously damaged it and took advantage of ebay's return policy and there's nothing I can do about it. So now I'm out of pocket for return postage, the full refund and have a damaged item that's now completely useless and will just be thrown away. Had been a member for 10+ years with a 100% record and it means nothing. I'm now deleting my account and can only issue a warning to other potential sellers.
