I run an IT business and use eBuyer a lot, if there was a good alternative I would use them instead.
You get what you pay for. Most cheaper items are from unknown brands, and apart from a couple of good exceptions, are often poor quality. Items often break or become defective, and, as a trade buyer eBuyer refuse to accept the items back for exchange or refund, leaving me to deal with manufacturers own warranty procedures. In some cases, the manufacturers are difficult, even impossible to find. In one case, of a PNY memory module, PNY actually contacted eBuyer on my behalf to force them to accept the return!
Their delivery services are a joke. I usually use the 5 day free delivery because it's the only one that's reliable. In most cases, a single order is split into many separate deliveries, in one case an order with 5 items arrived in 5 separate deliveries from several different couriers. If you are out, that could be 5 different trips to a depot to collect an item if you miss the delivery. eBuyer could easily streamline this process to save you money, or even boost their profits to the point where they could provide a decent service to the consumer.
If I need an item urgently, I occasionally have to order next day, or for a specific day. In this case it's rare the order arrives on time. They seem to pick couriers at random out of a hat each time you order. My current order for example was ordered for delivery on a Tuesday. I had an email confirmation on the Friday telling me it had been dispatched. It's now Wednesday, no sign of my order, and because eBuyer saved a few pennies using a courier with NO TRACKING, they refuse to take any action until tomorrow, so it's now taken a week to not receive an order that was supposed to have been delivered in 2 days.
My advice, if you can find an alternative, do so.
