I didn't want to make an account first and you don't need my birthday or my telephone number to make good on my order - card entry asked for a single initial (my card shows two), you don't need start date to charge visa, nearly went elsewhere but you won me over thanks to my own apathy and desire to get on with my day - and my new date of birth in 1900.
I'm surprised you haven't split tested that approach or did a senior manager make a unilateral [bad] decision thinking this information would help you sell more? He's an idiot, fire him.
