Customer service was always a big plus point with ecotricity but now emails just go unanswered. I had a 3 year fixed business electricity contract with them which ended in January. My fault partly for not checking but I was moved to an extortionate out of contract rate of 60p per kwh and £1 per day standing charge. Just to note, my previous suppliers always contacted me at the end of the deal but no such communication here.
Fair enough I thought, I should have checked myself but when I try to contact them to get me on a fair variable business rate again I either cannot get through on the phone or my emails go completely unanswered. I could not hang about any longer paying 60p per kwh and £1 day standing charge so have switched supplier.
Note : I always knew that I was paying a premium with ecotricity for an ethical alternative which I was happy with. I just feel let down now now and they have lost a business customer for life. I am now taking steps to move my personal home account away from ecotricity too.
