I have had a long-standing issue for 17 months with this company. I have been harassed and spammed to stay all this period with them. I have a two-bedroom flat for one adult and 3 children, with no TV, no dryer, no dishwasher and I am in a new, very well isolated building. I was told, as advertised on their website, I will be paying £600 annually and they are asking for £1400 a year.
ecotricity have:
1 -Consistently underestimated my bills for 7 months then threw an £800 bill as a 'catch up' when I sent them the actual meter reading. this ends up that their estimations for 7 months in more than what I have used in 15 months.
2- Refused my attempts to switch the company 3 times which caused debt to increase to £2,350.
3- I tried to set a payment plan with them that I can afford, but got told that nobody is there from the switch team! they left early today and it is up to them either to accept a payment plan or not! extremely stressful and again harassment with not being able to switch.
4- Been ultra rude and insulted me over phone and emails.
5- Sent to my address bills with 3 different names and 3 different accounts and ALL is adding up to MY debts.
I went into financial difficulty and distress. I could not cope. I wish I could give ZERO stars. As a mathematics teacher, I highly recommend that they re-do their primary school mathematics to be able to fix their problems.
Definitely will take the issue over to the court. Aiming forward to see a just ending to this awful company that can throw anyone into depression.
