There is a way out as I found out recently. Same incompetence from EDF but it was easy to resolve. Move supplier and then they have to respond. I moved to Octopus Energy - took 2 days. Really easy and EDF Energy had to provide an account.
Fortunately we did not have D/D so they couldnt take what they wanted.
So far Octopus Energy have responded to emails and telephone calls and the differences with the companies is just amazing.
