I used the "extended core bit for stone and concrete" to drill a 1 3/4" hole through a 1/2" marble tile backsplash (over top of a buried faucet valve stem). The first few minutes of drilling was the fastest but the bit held up for two holes, which is what I needed. I used a pre-drilled piece of plywood as my drill guide and the bit was very stable. It took about an hour per hole with a 2000rpm hand drill with lots of breaks to clear the hole and rinse the bit.
