When eir advised recently that their modems had been hacked, my landline coincidentally broke down at the same time as I was trying to reset the modem. I was without service for at least three weeks. When a technician finally came, he did not leave the phone system (orginally installed by eircom) working at it did before he repaired the fault. I have failed to get a response from anyone within eir to get the technician to return to fix it so that it worked as it did before the modem / line breakdown
