I previously used 'normal' rubber resistance bands. However, I found that there could be a significant discrepancy in two bands of supposedly the same strength. Also, over a period of time, the 'normal' ones tended to perish and this resulted in one snapping whilst in use. Luckily, nobody was injured. The Elastitone bands are a joy to use. I have two of each strength and each are the same resistance. This is very important when using them for exercises like squats, bench press, deadlifts etc. It is re-assuring also to know that if they were to snap (highly unlikely), the protective sleeve should negate any potential harm. In addition, the easy clip on/clip off makes it very easy to increase/decrease the resistance. The addition of the handles and ankle/wrist straps further adds to their versatility. Couldn't be more pleased with them.
