Slow, ill-informed and unhelpful.
Used the number plate look up to identify parts for my car including new alternator, battery and belt. Got them home to find the belt was the wrong size and nipped to the Catford branch to swap over. I forgot my paper receipt but had my email order confirmation and my bank account to prove purchase. The young chap behind the counter was called Mo and he said I couldn't have a refund without the paper receipt. I explained i had forgotten it and he said it was store policy. I asked which policy in 2025 demands a paper receipt when we have email and online confirmations. I then explained that the item was not as described and was covered by the sale of goods act but he said he was studying law at university and could not give me a refund. I couldn't motivate myself to waste the time arguing but am very clear they are obligated by the law regardless of their policy. Perhaps this could all have been avoided if they at least trained staff to use their brains and try to help customers rather than playing wannabe lawyers?
