We installed satellite broadband after months of problems with broadband reception via our BT landline (we live in rural Somerset) which culminated with BT saying they were unable to reinstate the connection at all. We chose Europasat on the recommendation of a neighbour who had had similar problems.
We now have a reliable service with a speed of about 6.2, sometimes a bit lower during periods of heavy usage. This is hugely better than anything we ever obtained via the landline. We can catch up on missed TV programmes for instance without any interruption. Service contact at Europasat is also easy to reach, pleasant and helpful, in contrast to the nightmare of dealing with BT!
Only negative to mention is the quality of connection when using Skype which we do frequently for overseas family calls. Sometimes it is excellent with minimal delay, but more often the delay and poor picture quality makes it difficult. We are still experimenting to discover what causes this, whether heavy traffic or connection problems at one or other end. This may be a feature of all satellite broadband connections, but check it out if Skype is important to you.
