I recently visited Evans in the West End in London and was served by Julian W. I had pretty much made my mind up what I wanted but we went through the elimination process nonetheless. Julian was very keen and helpful and I bought the bike after a short test drive. I did get the feeling that he wasn’t really that bothered about serving me and that the attention I was getting was just the usual stuff. I then bought some other stuff, a helmet and a hi viz. Julian pointed out that I would get a £20 voucher if I spent over £100. The two transactions were put through separately so not qualifying for the voucher. I pointed this out and he just wouldn’t answer if I would get it or not eventually only saying that I should. He was furtive and really was avoiding the subject. i had just spent over £700 without effort or quibble and so it’s not the money it was just a cheap move by him. It’s a relationship based on trust and to be honest I just don’t feel comfortable about shopping there again. I have since bought another bike for my girlfriend with the hat and hi viz and lights etc from the shop just around the corner who were great. I would recommend them but not Evans, sadly.
The vouchers didn’t turn up, as I thought. Poor choices Julian.
