Set aside the fact that this tour company is making strides in women empowerment by being the first ones to hire women as porters. Evolution Treks Peru is also a company that takes care of all their porters giving them equipment equivalent to the standards of their clients. On my 4 day trek, I was privy to an inclusive group, one where I got the privilege to interact and befriend the porters, chef and tour guides. I was also lucky to have learned about Incan history and culture from a very animated and passionate tour guide, Miguel. He is also one of the founders responsible for making history by hiring female porters and for enforcing sustainable travel within his company. I can't say enough greatness about this company - but really all you need to do is make it a point to support them and their quest by experiencing it for yourselves!!
