My parents taught me to protect the top of my wood furniture, and the standard WAS glass. Glass is heavy and slippery, and fragile! But beautiful. Then, there was a period where plexiglass was THE THING, but it didn't grow old gracefully. Searching the web for a new piece of furniture to cover, I found Exactmats, and decided to open my mind. Glad I DID! The order went smoothly, the clear mat came rolled, and a night of placing it on my console with heavy books over it, did the trick. Nary a bubble, ripple, or curled edge. So, consider me a very satisfied customer. Time will tell about the aging.
