“I love the material used, but the size I received was not what I ordered. I asked for a length of 96 5/8” and received 96 15/16”. I had to wait about a week for the plastic to flatten out and it just got longer. ExactMats made it right. They sent me another mat which is a perfect fit. The edges are still a little curled, but hopefully they will settle down soon.”

“I was looking for a clear, thick table protector, easily maintained, and thought that this is what I got, it the size didn't match. I thought I ordered a 4 foot wide by 116 inch rectangle, but got a 4 inch by 1 inch piece. Not nearly enough to cover my table.”

“Good product, but I thought the mat was going to be clear, to be able to see the beauty of the runner carpet. For some reason, the runner carpet now moves around when you step on it, whereas before the runner carpet stayed in place. But I did buy the exact mat for protection to the carpet.”

It looks like you selected our Cleated Riverstone material, which has a slightly pebbled finish on top and grippers/nubs on the bottom. While the material is clear, it does have more of a "frosted" look due to the slight texture. As far as the mat staying in place, I see that our support team reached out to you to diagnose the issue, and after reviewing photos of your carpet, it appears that your carpet has a high pile. However, our Cleated Riverstone material is only recommended for use on low-pile carpet/rugs. Our support team offered to get a return started for you, but you confirmed that the product will work for your application. Again, our apologies for any confusion regarding the recommended use for this material/product; however, we are glad to hear that the mat worked out for you. As far as the finish, it looks like you selected the Crystal material (completely clear and smooth on both sides). This material is designed to look like glass, so it does have the same reflective properties as glass when light hits it. If you are ever looking for something a bit less "reflective" than the Crystal material, we do offer another finish called Riverstone. The Riverstone material has a slightly pebbled finish on one side and a smooth finish on the other side. Placing the textured side of the material facing up refracts a bit of light. “I used my ExactMat for a 24 x 60 standing desktop and initially was a bit disappointed as it didn't lay as flat as I had hoped. This was particulary noticible as the reflections from the room can lighting made the waves very noticable. After two weeks time (and a bit of hot air from the hair dryer) the mat has flattened nicely. I don't think it will every be as flat as a piece of glass but I have received complements and it preforms very well and very nice to have a "whole desk" pad.”

I contacted the company once I explained what happened. The problem was no longer mine. “I ordered a custom made, elliptical mat for a new kitchen table with a beautiful wood top. The mat arrived faster than expected, and fits the table pefectly. It's only been in place for a couple of weeks, but I can already see the value of this mat. It will for certain protect the lovely wood from spills or other damage. The mat was not inexpensive, but it is worth the cost. The only reason for 4 stars versus 5: The mat has visible "sticky woodgrain lines" on the underside, presumably from where there may have been polish (though the table was very clean and dry when the mat was placed). I tried to clean these off, but to no avail. Also, things don't slide easily on the mat, which has benefits as well as drawbacks. I assume it isn't easy for things to spill because items on the table don't move as readily as they would otherwise; on the other hand, it's a little challenging when playing cards or intentionally sliding things across the table. All in all, it looks way, way better than a clear tablecloth, which would have been the only other option to protect the lovely table and allow the beautiful wood finish to shine through.”
