I rated the ExactMats I ordered as a 4 because I expected the product would be more rigid than it turned out to acually be. I was expecting a product that would retain its shape like a solid wood top desk. The product is soft which means if you place a heavy object on it and leave it for a protracted period, the mat will become depressed and reflect the shape of the heavy object. I still will use the product to cover my desk top as it is an improvement because it will protect the top of my desk.
