I spent 12 hours at the Terminal 5 Aspire lounge. My flight from Boston Logan landed at Heathrow at 5am and I reached the lounge at around 5:30am. Although it was supposed to already be open, the lady inside said that the morning staff hadn't arrived and so she didn't know when the lounge would open, but it would most likely be around 6-6:30am. Along with me, there were a few people waiting outside till it finally opened at 6am.
Inside the lounge:
1. My layover was 15 hours, so I had to make four 3 hour bookings. When I entered, the lady at the reception was obviously not used to people having reservations for such a long period of time and seemed very suspicious. Her tone was rude until I showed her all my documents.
2. There isn't a restroom inside the lounge.
3. Wifi connection is poor.
4. The sleeping pods are uncomfortable and cold.
5. Half way through my stay, one of the ladies in the lounge comes up to my sleeping pod and shouts through the curtain on my sleeping pod and asks me what time I checked in. Again I had to go through the entire process of taking out my emails to show proof of my 4 reservations. The ladies in this lounge have a habit of being suspicious of whether the guests are over-staying their booking and they are not good at hiding it (and being professional about it) at all.
I paid $208 for the entire stay and I'm disappointed mainly at the lack of hospitality. The only good thing was that the food was good and the lounge was pretty clean.
