My wife and I were very disappointed with the standards at the Swissport lounge, Terminal 2 Manchester. The lounge was dim with outdated decor and no external windows. It was also too overcrowded and initially my wife and I could not even sit at the same table. The food was of poor quality: the bacon sandwiches were very fatty, there was one lone yoghurt left when we arrived and the pastries were limited and of cheap quality. Particularly inexcusable were the levels of mess. There were dirty cups and a heap of discarded sugar and milk sachets left by the coffee machine; my wife was unable to find a clean cup for her coffee. Furthermore, the staff continuously walked through the lounge making loud passenger announcements despite the fact that there was an electronic departures board. A key reason we had booked the lounge was to have a quieter atmosphere. My wife and I left early and felt we could have had a much better experience simply sitting in Costa or another outlet in the main passenger lounge. We would strongly recommend against booking this lounge. It is totally inferior in comparison with lounges in other terminals that charge a similar price and offer a much higher standard of food, service and setting.
