Visited on Friday 24th November arriving at around 10.30am. Breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs and a roll was ok but after that things went down. Three girls, who were obviously in a hen party by their attire were noisy and so we moved into the quite area. Here we were faced by people talking loudly and then some idiot who came in, slouched down and did the usual trick of mobile phone users and shouted into his phone. My wife actually reminded him that it was a quite area and in fairness he apologised and left. My point however it is not up to us to ‘police’ the Lounge and staff should be on hand to do this. I also notice that you ask customers to dress appropriately and therefore was a bit surprised to see a family dressed in tracksuits and trainers stuffing there faces with as much food and drink as possible and also being loud.
That brings me on to the food at lunchtime which comprised a few tired pieces of ham, some salad and a small amount of unappetising hot food, inadequate I’m afraid.
I am a tanker driver and by no means a snob but we paid a not inconsiderable sum ahead of a long journey to the United States via Amsterdam for a bit of peace and quite, it was therefore a tad annoying to find ourselves in an a Pilot episode of the Jeremy Kyle meets Benidorm Show without any decent food to sustain us.
