I booked the lounge as a surprise for my wife before leaving for our holiday in Gran Canaria.
First impressions were ok but we did feel the furnishings did feel a bit dated and the lounge lacked a little bit of ‘atmosphere’, felt more like a library than a place for pre flight relaxation.
I know it is hard to please both business and holiday travellers but maybe just some low subtle music may help?
Couples were whispering to each other as it felt a little bit ‘stiff’ in there.
I’m glad I booked the champagne as this made it feel like more of an occasion.
My biggest disappointment was the breakfast, over cooked sausages and rather unappealing looking bacon & scrambled egg. I did not enjoy my breakfast at all.
The positives were that the staff were very polite and friendly and there was a good selection of complimentary drinks.
It was also disappointing that there are no toilet facilities in the lounge but this may be due to a lack of space rather than planning.
My overall impression was that I would probably sit in the champagne bar next time as I don’t think the cost justifies the experience.
I will be flying out of Edinburgh again in September so you never know??
Kind regards
