We were arriving early morning at Heathrow from Miami and had a connecting flight to Newcastle. Unfortunately our connecting flight was cancelled and we had to wait 8 hours at Terminal 5 for the next flight. So I booked this lounge for some comfort. But you only get a maximum of three hours before your flight and, of course, need to go to your gate long before departure, so you don't get three hours. Consequently we had to sit in the terminal for quite some time before our lounge booking. We arrived in the lounge at 11.30, half an hour after breakfast food finish and the all day food started. However breakfast was still there, undercooked bacon and dried up sausages. Not good. This was eventually replaced by the daytime offering that looked somewhat unappetising. Apart from that there is sliced ham, cheese and not much else. There was no bread at all, there should've been, so no toast, no sandwiches. They guarantee you a seat in this lounge, but is long and harrow and seating is hard to find. Many of the seats are just bar stools, there are tables and chairs, but all that was available to us was a very small table up against a wall with two chairs, we were not very comfortable. The drinks selection was probably good, it was too early for a gin and tonic, so we only had diet coke. For two people the cost was well over £60 and in my view was very poor value for money. The lounge was busier that the terminal, and there is a much better choice of food in the terminal. We were able to sit in the terminal and would easily have been able to buy food and a drink for less that £60. This lounge is not worth the money and I will not be booking again.
